Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. At the age of five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She trained for several years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. At the age of ten she was involved and performed the main role in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after auditions of 8. They were cast as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film on the screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. This film was 2001's highest production, and it broke records during the opening day and first weekend. The film received praise from reviewers, and so were the performances of its three new stars. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely and widely read, praised her performance as admirable. Later Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in an Feature Film.
